In this project that fused Life Science, Social Studies, and computer science standards, students will:

• Research local farms and real challenges facing food production in the Charlottesville area

• Design a solution by redesigning a plant, animal, or fungus using selective breeding or genetic modification

• Develop an algorithm that explains their solution step-by-step

• Create a visual flyer to communicate how their redesigned organism works and why it matters

• Present and pitch their solution in an in-class project showcase the week of May 18th.
